Beach stones, shells, tide-shaped clay embankments, driftwood, wind-carved sand, salt grass, bird tracks, osprey cries, salt air, and mudflats at low tide—along with the continual flotsam of natural and man-made curiosities brought in by tides and storms inform and shape my ceramic work.

Pinched and paddled bud vases finished with blue underglaze and iron oxide washes evoke the smooth weathered beach stone shaped by time, weather, and the tides, while the fluid, layered surface suggests tidal currents.

This slab-built vessel, resting on stone-like feet, is inspired by petrified wood artifacts often found on local beaches.
